Greetings from the International Space Station! (Not really, but apparently that’s the view from the cupola.)
My son and I just got back from Space Camp this week. Studying space science leaves me even more in awe of the workings of the human body.
Throughout the vastness of our universe, the most complex structure we have ever discovered is your brain.
Factors like your feelings, experiences and genes all coalesce in this organ to produce your immediate experience.
Yet despite all other factors, your state of chemical balance can have the strongest effects on how you feel. If you doubt it, see how your thoughts change when you hold your breath for a little longer than comfortable.
Next time your mood is off, think about the most basic factors of your chemistry. Are you breathing deeply? Are you well hydrated? When was your last alkalizing meal? Could you use some extra sleep tonight?
Fix the basics and you might be amazed at how much better your brain can feel.
